Hello! My name is Caitlin Burke and I'm currently enrolled in TPTE 486 at the University of Tennessee. I'm a mathematics major with a secondary education minor. In addition to being a student, I'm the President of the Dance Society at UT (a student-run organization aimed at promoting dance and dance education throughout both the UT campus and surrounding Knoxville area) as well as President of BOSS Dance Company, the Dance Society's main project. I plan on integrating dance into my future, be it as a choreographer for the high school at which I teach, being an instructor at a local studio, or even both!
In the class, I expect to learn how to integrate technology into not just the classroom, but the mathematics classroom as well. I am eager to learn about the tools available to us as educators for the use in the classroom because, although I am well versed in technology, my knowledge is limited to recreational use. I expect that this class will expand my horizons and teach me how to professionally use technology.
The purpose of this blog is to provide helpful information on how to properly integrate technology into the classroom. With the ever-growing demand to have everything at our fingertips, technology can become one of our greatest allies in the classroom, providing educators and students with the latest and greatest materials. So join me as we learn how to spice up the ole classroom with a little technology!
